This is our story . .
Isolina's journey into the creative world began at the age of ten. She learned to speak Italian through drawing, as it was the only way to communicate with her Italian friends, who neither spoke Swedish nor English.
Her unique method of creating art with tape was discovered by chance while repainting her loft in Tribeca. As a student at one of the world's most prestigious art and design schools, Parsons School of Design, she found an unexpected sense of calm in peeling off blue painter's tape, revealing sharp, clean lines—if only for a few seconds. Two weeks later, she visited David Hockney’s exhibition at The MET in New York, and that’s when everything started to fall into place.
"Drawing or visiting art exhibitions never felt natural to me—until the day I saw the David Hockney exhibit at The MET. I was completely drawn into his world of color. On my way out, I came across a photo of a pool that instantly reminded me of Slim Aarons' iconic photograph of the old pool at the prestigious Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France. In that moment, everything clicked. I should create outlines with tape, paint with acrylic using a matte binder, and then peel the tape off—a perfect way for me to relax," she recalls.
Today, Isolina sees Monjoi as more than just a brand; it is a philosophy. A noun that embodies the spirit of exploration and the joy of embracing what truly makes you happy. The name originates from the Italian word mondo (world) and joy, symbolizing a world of creativity, discovery, and gratitude.
